I love airports. I love travel. I love Portand. I love my friends. I’m also loving the e check in + going through the employee security check stations b/c I’m in a chair. It was so easy & fast. I will accept any “perks” from my disability quite shamellessly. Life w a chair is hard, so if there’s even a remote possibility there’s a system that makes even one thing in my life easier, I will take it.
Sunglasses: vintage. Open weave sweater: Delia*s clearance sale. Barneys Co Op T shirt: gifted/thrifted. Shorts: vintage DIY cut offs. Boots: Camper.

Samona Naomi Williams, “Fragile” from the photography project “Bound”, by her and Anthony David King.
(I think there’s a lot of very problematic language on the website of the project - calling disability “tragic” and “broken” and stuff like that. But what I see as the message of the pictures is that a disabled woman can still be strong and sexy and have a life and a personality, so I like the images themselves… and Samona is seriously gorgeous!)

I didn’t visit the website, but I find the picture could have been done a lot better. People are not bound to wheelchairs. Wheelchairs help us move around and experience life the way we want to. It’s not tragic. We’re not fragile (at least not for that reason).

I interpreted it as the tape that says “fragile” being the thing that traps or confines her - so the tape represents the way non-disabled people treat her as “fragile”. (I don’t know if that’s what she actually meant though.)
Most of the “tragic” type of stuff on the website seemed to come from the photographer rather than from Samona herself.

Myself playing my first solo show

Remi Fox-Novák playing soloThis is me playing my first solo show.  I have a main band (Surfacing http://fillingthedeadlysilences.tumblr.com/ quite arty, intense) and a second one on the way which is a lot more pop.  Thought this was a sexy shot suitable for your blog.  The photo was taken by Rory Bhandari and was published on facebook.

Hope you like!

Remi
